What is Feng Shui ?

Feng Shui is an ancient chinese discipline which enbles to harness and control the forces of nature to bring prosperity, harmony and health to human beings. With Feng Shui, people can benefit from the energies of their environment to achieve their goals and fulfill their destiny.

Within the past few years, Feng Shui has gained an increasing recognition in the Western World. Though, the ancient art is still not very well know by the westerners. Many people are confused by the large information available and by the numerous "schools". A lot of people try to apply it but they are mislead by the seeming simple principles but they rather make and tell mistakes than they get the result they are looking for.

We first have to be respectful toward a 2500 year old art of living in harmony with nature. Feng Shui can be consider as a science, as well as medicine or astrophysics.
Feng Shui aims at bringing balance between people and the forces of nature. We all know that nature can give us great benefactions and we all try to get what we can. We just often forget the basic principle of universal balance (Yin & Yang).
These forces are gathered under the concept of Qi (Chi), also know as the "life energy" and that permeates and binds all life forms, all living and non-living things on Earth. Qi can be dynamic or static, it has different aspects according to time, space and landscape.
But Qi can have beneficial or harmful aspects. All of this is always relative to the person, the house, the landscape and the time. There is nothing absolute in Feng Shui, as there is no absolute Yin nor absolute Yang.
A house can be very good for some people and very bad for other ones. Sometimes, a few things can just make it reversed.
The more we know Feng Shui, the more we learn prudence, humility and reverence.
